Gospel Singer Eric Arubayi Is Dead [See Details]

This is so extremely sad and heartbreaking. Gospel Singer and the 3rd runner up at the maiden edition of the West African Idol, Eric Arubayi, is dead. He is reported to have died on Saturday February 11th evening at Delta State University Teaching Hospital after battling an illness.

Eric complained of feeling weak, and was rushed to the health center. But reports have filtered through that the singer is dead and efforts to get an official statement from his family proved abortive.

Until his death, Eric Arubayi is a Nigerian singer/songwriter, born to a family of four from the Niger Delta region, was the 4th runner-up of first season of Idols West Africa. He survived by a wife, Chinonso and one child. Eric and his wife Chinonso celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary recently.
